There are “severe delays” on the M56 this morning following a crash. Emergency services were called to the eastbound carriageway of the motorway at junction 14 for Chester services/Helsby at around 7am on Thursday, November 7.
National Highways said the crash was cleared at around 8.20am, however there is still a 75 minute delay which remains on approach to the area. There is also six miles of congestion. Traffic management system Inrix said congestion is reaching junction 15 of the motorway at the M53 interchange.
It is unclear whether anyone was injured in the crash and how many vehicles were involved. Elsewhere, part of the M6 between junctions 33 and 32 remains closed following a fatal crash on Wednesday, November 6.
