Salah took to social media after Liverpool’s win over Bayer Leverkusen to send a wordless message to jubilant supporters.
Mohamed Salah has taken to social media to share a photo with Liverpool’s goalscorers from Tuesday’s 4-0 Champions League triumph over Bayer Leverkusen. The winger did not score himself on the night but did grab two assists.
Luis Diaz netted the first hat-trick of his Liverpool career with Cody Gakpo notching his maiden strike in the Champions League since joining the Reds. Salah’s two set-ups mean he now has 18 goals contributions – nine goals and nine assists – in 16 matches this season.
The 32-year-old has registered a goal and four assists in four Champions League ties so far with Liverpool currently topping the table having won all of their games. The Egyptian himself consequently tops the assists chart for the whole competition as fans implore the board to hand him a renewal.

The winger sees his deal expire in June with it unclear whether talks over fresh terms have commenced. The ECHO understands Salah wishes to stay at Anfield, having already spent seven years at the club.
He has been active on social media over the past few weeks and released a message of encouragement to fans over the weekend. “Top of the table is where this club belongs,” he wrote.
“Nothing less. All teams win matches but there’s only one champion in the end. That’s what we want. Thank you for your support last night. No matter what happens, I will never forget what scoring at Anfield feels like.”
And after Tuesday’s win over Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen, Salah took to social media again. He posted a photo of him with Diaz and Gakpo – having assisted both – in the recovery pools as the superlatives rolled in for all three in the comments.
Diaz’s treble means his goal tally rises to nine for the season while Gakpo sits on six strikes. Arne Slot’s side is currently on a 12-game unbeaten run, having scored 11 goals in their last four matches.
