The latest Liverpool news as two quick second-half goals saw the Reds come from behind to record a 2-1 win over Brighton
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has suggested that Arne Slot may not have been too happy with the way that the Reds turned the game around against Brighton. The pundit claimed that the team reverted back to Jurgen Klopp’s style after scoring the equaliser.
Liverpool had to come from behind to secure what was a huge three points against the Seagulls. The win saw Slot’s men take advantage of losses for title rivals Arsenal and Manchester City.
Trailing 1-0 at the break, Cody Gakpo’s goal saw Liverpool draw level in the 70th minute. Two minutes later, Salah completed the turnaround with a brilliant finish.

The win moved Liverpool two points clear of Man City at the top of the table. It also continued the brilliant start under Slot, who replaced Klopp at the helm in the summer.
The success has come despite a slight tweak in the style of play between the two managers. But Carragher compared how the winning goal came about to the Liverpool of old.
“I think when that goal (the equaliser) goes in, there’s almost an inevitability that Liverpool will go on and get another goal really quick,” he said on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football. “Arne Slot didn’t talk about tactics, he talked about energy, no the crowd is up, this is going wild, people are pressing all over the place.”
“Virgil van Dijk gives a foul away, the crowd go up. With the ball in play, is 64 seconds before Liverpool score again.
“Look at (Darwin) Nunez, like a mad man. This is not what Arne Slot wants, this is Jurgen Klopp, we were told there’s going to be more control.
“Liverpool win it back, everyone flying forward, look at the bodies, this is just end to end, this is the Anfield factor. Again, they lost the ball, six players up the other end of the pitch, counter attack. Arne Slot down here, he doesn’t want to see this end to end football.
“You mentioned the Nottingham Forest game, Callum Hudson-Odi cuts in here, scores a goal, exactly the same position. This time, a brilliant challenge from (Joe) Gomez, who was fantastic when he came on.
“So Brighton have got the ball, they’ve had a chance, maybe half a chance to get a shot away, they have another little half chance, but there’s no thought of can we get more control? No, let’s go to the other end, let’s go quickly.”
Slot may like to see his team have more control when they return to action on Tuesday night as they host Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League. They are back in Premier League action on Saturday when Aston Villa visit Anfield.
