The tip can be used for any season of training
A viral TikTok trend has exposed a “little-known” Garmin Watch hack for fitness fanatics. Several online coaches and personal trainers have taken to the social media app to share the tip which helps maximise your running technique before you’ve even left the house.
The trick, which can be applied to any type of Garmin Watch, “dials” in your training in advance. By logging into the Connect App, you can create the workout you plan to do for that day.
This means the watch will tell you if you are in the right pace zones, if you’re doing the correct distances, and, most importantly, if you are adhering to the appropriate recovery time. This also means that for shorter distances, you won’t need to take your phone out with you or a running vest.

One TikTok user, Ewan Heritage, known as @thedentalathelete to his 40,000 followers, said it benefits him as he can focus solely on running while the watch works out the rest. He also said it is important to sync the workout you created to your watch so that it is ready when you head out to collect some miles.
The workouts can be created as warm-ups, intervals, cool-downs, and repeats, all of which have selected pace and heart-rate zones. Once the workout is initially created, it can be used time and time again, so it is ideal for those who are looking to implement a training plan for a race day.
