Strictly Come Dancing judge Motsi Mabuse was left stunned as she noticed a show trend on Sunday night’s episode
Strictly: Motsi says all the girls are leaving the competition
Strictly Come Dancing judge Motsi Mabuse was quick to point out an elimination trend during Sunday’s results show.
During the latest instalment, Sam Quek and Nikita Kuzmin found themselves in the dreaded dance-off against Montell Douglas and Johannes Radebe.
Both couples performed their routines again with Sam and Nikita performing their American Smooth to Love Story by Taylor Swift while Montell and Johannes performed their Waltz to I Will Always Love You by Whitney Houston.
After both couples had danced a second time, the judges delivered their verdicts with Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi and Anton Du Beke all choosing to save Montell and Johannes, reports the Mirror.
During Motsi’s feedback, the judge said: “I would have to agree with Craig, both girls danced beautifully and it just feels like we’re losing girls and girls. I’m like: ‘What is happening?'”
It comes as Dr Punam Krishan and her pro partner Gorka Marquez were eliminated from the show last week.
Taking to Twitter, now X, following Sunday’s results, viewers were left stunned arguing that neither Sam or Montell deserved to be in the dance-off. One person said: “I feel like the public got it wrong putting Sam & Nikita in the bottom this week!” while a different account wrote: “I wouldn’t have put Sam & Montell in the dance off but it is who the public vote for at this stage StrictlyComeDancing #strictly.”
Meanwhile, another viewer wrote: “montell & sam in the bottom 2?? im genuinely in shock #strictly”, a different account put: “Sam and Montell in the dance off? Am I the only person confused? #strictly” while another wrote: “#strictly I’m so mad how can sam and montell be in the dance off?!”
When asked by host Tess Daly about her time on the show, Sam admitted: “I’m gutted, I just want to say thank you. I’ve learned so much. Strictly has just brought that spring in my step back. It’s just been an absolute joy.
“Nikita, you’ve been key in helping me find that inner Sam that was there, who went a little bit quiet for maybe one or two years and has just come back. I’m gutted because I do feel like I still have more to give.”
The remaining nine couples will take to the dancefloor next week when Strictly Come Dancing returns on Saturday 9 November at 6.35pm with the Remembrance Sunday results show on Sunday 10 November at 7.20pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
Both of this weekend’s episodes are available to watch now via BBC iPlayer.
