Liverpool take on Brighton and Hove Albion at Anfield on Saturday, so we simulated the Premier League game to predict the outcome.
Just three days after their Carabao Cup clash, Liverpool and Brighton will meet once again later today as the two sides go head to head in the Premier League.
Liverpool booked their spots in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals in their last outing, with Cody Gakpo grabbing a brace as the Reds brushed past Brighton in a 3-2 win on the south coast. The game against the Seagulls was closely contested, and Arne Slot will be hoping his side can make it two wins from two against Brighton when the Reds welcome them to Anfield later today.
A 2-2 draw away to Arsenal in the last Premier League game saw Liverpool drop to second place and a point behind Man City in the table, with three points important for the Reds if they want to stay hot on the heels of their title rivals. After starting a rotated XI midweek, Slot is expected to make some wholesale changes to the squad later today, with the likes of Ryan Gravenberch, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Virgil van Dijk set to return.

Liverpool vs Brighton Premier League score predicted
To complete this simulation, we used EA FC 25 and updated the squads with the latest injuries and suspensions.
We predict that Liverpool could line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their starting XI as follows: Kelleher; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Szoboszlai, Gakpo; Nunez.
We predict that Brighton could set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their line-up as follows: Verbruggen; Veltman, Van de Hecke, Igor, Estupinan; Baleba, Hinshelwood; Adingra, Rutter, Mitoma; Welbeck.
Liverpool almost took the lead after four minutes at Anfield when Dominik Szoboszlai took aim with an audacious effort from 30 yards out, but his shot could only rattle the crossbar, with the ‘keeper left stranded. The Reds were convincing in the opening stages, and after 41 minutes, they eventually took the lead.
A poor clearance from Brighton saw the ball fall just outside the visitor’s box, with Szoboszlai heading the loose ball into the feet of Darwin Nunez in a dangerous position. Rather than shooting, the striker shifted the ball to Gakpo on his left, and the Dutchman fired a fantastic strike into the top corner, continuing his goalscoring form.
Just before half-time, Kaoru Mitoma got the better of Trent Alexander-Arnold before racing through one-on-one with Caoimhin Kelleher, but the ‘keeper made a fantastic save with his feet as the Reds survived a big scare. As the game went on, the Seagulls started to grow in confidence as they searched for an equaliser, but the game was put to bed with 13 minutes to go as the Reds doubled their lead.
As Brighton played out of the back, Gravenberch pressured Jack Hinshelwood into giving up possession and allowing the Reds to counter. A one-two between Nunez and Mohamed Salah saw the latter go through on goal, and a composed finish saw the Egyptian find the top corner to guarantee the three points.
