Tottenham Hotspur knocked out Manchester City in the Carabao Cup fourth round, and the Premier League leaders also lost summer signing Savinho to injury during the tie
Manchester City’s injury issues have been mounting this month and only increased Wednesday night during their Carabao Cup fourth-round tie with Tottenham Hotspur. Savinho left the pitch on a stretcher during the second half and covered his face while carried off.
Since arriving from Troyes, part of the City Football Group, the summer signing has started six of City‘s nine Premier League matches this season. The winger is their latest wide player affected by injury, with Jeremy Doku and Jack Grealish also unavailable.
Kevin De Bruyne and Kyle Walker remain out, and Oscar Bobb and Rodri are long-term absentees. City face being without them for their next three matches before the November international break.

They visit Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon before travelling to Lisbon for their latest Champions League league phase match against Sporting next midweek. City then return to the south coast to play Brighton and Hove Albion before the penultimate international fortnight of the season.
Pep Guardiola‘s team will then face Tottenham again, this time at home, in their first match back. They will welcome Arne Slot‘s former club, Feyenoord, in the Champions League before coming to Anfield to play his Liverpool on 1 December.
Bobb and Rodri will miss that one, while Savinho’s diagnosis remains to be seen. Doku and Grealish’s returns over the coming weeks should offset a significant setback.
However, the Brazil international has been a revelation for the Premier League champions this season, akin to when Doku signed last season. Savinho has yet to score but assisted four goals for teammates across all competitions, including Mateus Nunes’ consolation strike in the match against Spurs.
