Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch was given the night off by Arne Slot
Ryan Gravenberch was afforded the night off by Liverpool head coach Arne Slot – but it didn’t stop him following proceedings as the Reds beat Brighton 3-2 in the Carabao Cup.
The Dutchman watched from his phone while on a ‘date night’ with partner Cindy Peroti, who commented “always, it doesn’t matter where he is”. Indeed, it’s behaviour many Liverpool supporters could relate to, with fans on social media praising Gravenberch for his dedication to watching his team-mates in action.
The victory sets up a Carabao Cup quarter-final tie at Southampton, with the likes of Manchester United, Tottenham and Arsenal also advancing to the last eight of the competition.

Liverpool’s goals were scored by Gravenberch’s international team-mate Cody Gakpo (2) and Luis Diaz. The midfielder was afforded a well deserved rest after impressing in the opening months of the season in a defensive midfield role.
He will likely return to Slot’s side on Saturday when Brighton travel to Anfield in the Premier League.
