Kaye Adams was forced to flee the panel after she became visibly “choked up” on-air as co-star Nadia Sawalha spoke about her husband Mark Adderley overcoming his alcohol addiction
Loose Women’s Kaye Adams walks off mid show
During an emotional discussion on Loose Women, Kaye Adams unexpectedly walked out mid-show.
On Thursday (October 31) broadcast of the ITV programme, she was accompanied by panelists Olivia Attwood, Nadia Sawalha and Denise Welch. Nadia shared her husband Mark Adderley’s remarkable milestone of 20 years of sobriety and their almost-failed marriage, when Kaye had to leave her seat.
Nadia revealed that their daughter Kiki was the reason she stayed with Mark through difficult times, despite once being close to leaving. Their candid conversation captivated the studio audience when suddenly Kaye began to “struggle” on-air.
Without causing too much of a scene, Kaye discreetly left the set while Nadia acknowledged her distress by saying: “Are you alright? Do you want some water?” Before adding: “She’s got a tickle.”
The TV star later commented to audience members that Kaye was “choked up” after she hadn’t returned for some time.

Seasoned presenters, Nadia, Olivia and Denise managed to continue the discussion without Kaye’s usual guidance at the helm, reports the Mirror. Despite the panel’s effort to proceed, the sound of what seemed to be Kaye in a “coughing fit” lingered in the background, noticeable to both the live audience and the viewers at home.
The trio did their best to fill the void left by Kaye’s temporary absence, who had stepped away for a few minutes to compose herself. As Nadia began to conclude her update, the audience erupted in applause.
Fortunately, Kaye had bounced back and resumed her hosting duties, waving to concerned fans to reassure them that she was now alright after taking a few moments away.
Elsewhere in the show, the conversation turned to infidelity and whether it was acceptable for women to cheat but not men. The panel seemed to agree that there were some “double standards” when it came to women being unfaithful.
Leading the discussion, former Love Island star Olivia Attwood admitted to having different views of her girlfriends, stating that “they could do no wrong in her eyes”.
However, she acknowledged that if a man did the same as some of her pals, the conversation would be entirely different. The sentiment was back-up by her co-star Denise, who agreed, adding: “I guess people would think that a woman would cheat because their needs aren’t men but men just do it because they can.”
Loose Women airs weekdays on ITV1, from 12:30pm.
