People may be told to leave certain areas of south Liverpool by police
Police have been given extra powers to keep the public safe ahead of Halloween. A total of four dispersal zones will be in place across south Liverpool from today (Wednesday, October 30) until Friday, November 1.
The dispersal orders will cover Dingle, Belle Vale, Garston and Speke. Officers will be in the area to provide a visible presence and deal with any incidents.
Officers will be present in Dingle from 3.25pm today to 3.25pm on Friday, November 1, which includes Grafton Street, Harlow Street, Park Road, Dingle Lane, Dingle Road, Garswood Street, Grafton Street. The order is in place in Belle Vale from 3.30pm today to 3.30pm on Friday, November 1, which includes Naylorsfield Drive, Sarum Road, Childwall Valley Road, Barnham Drive, Gateacre Park, Grange Lane, Belle Vale Road, Lee Vale Road, Kings Drive and Naylorsfield Drive.

The dispersal zone in Garston is in place from 3.35pm today to 3.35pm on Friday, November 1, which includes Blackburne Street, Banks Road, Speke Road, Church Road, Chapel Road, Earp Street, Seddon Road, Garston Way and Church Road. A police presence will also be in Speke from 4.15pm today to 4.15pm on Friday, November 1, which includes Speke Boulevard, Western Avenue, Clough Road, Alderfield Drive, Hale Drive, Speke Hall Avenue and Speke Boulevard.
These dispersal zones are under Section 34/35 of the Anti-Social Behaviour & Policing Act 2014, which gives police officers the powers to direct people engaging in anti-social behaviour or are likely to become involved in such incidents and not return for up to 48 hours. Officers also have the power to seize items used for anti-social behaviour.
Should a person who has previously been directed to leave but returns to the area, then an offence would be committed, and they may be arrested.
