PC White is set to face a misconduct hearing
A police officer is accused of working as a delivery driver and golf caddy while he was off sick. Former PC 3680 White of Lancashire Constabulary is set to face a misconduct hearing at Ormskirk Police Station at 1pm on Thursday, October 31.
The panel, tasked with deciding if PC White’s actions amounted to gross misconduct, will be chaired by Chief Constable Sacha Hatchett. The officer is alleged to have failed to declare a business interest, as is required by the force, when he worked as a delivery driver, Lancs Live reports.
He is also said to have continued working as a golf caddy despite being ordered not to do so. The details, published online by Lancashire Constabulary, state: “It is alleged by the Appropriate Authority that being a Police Officer with Lancashire Constabulary, Former Officer 3680 White breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour set out in Schedule 2 to the Police (Conduct) Regulations 2020.

“It is alleged that Former Officer 3680 White worked as a delivery driver whilst on sick leave and without having declared a business interest. It is also alleged that when Former Officer 3680 White’s business interest had been suspended, he was given a clear lawful order to cease his golf caddying role with immediate effect and continued to caddy in breach of the lawful order.
“The matters aforesaid amount to gross misconduct and to a breach of the Standards of Professional Behaviour of Honesty and Integrity, Orders and Instructions, Duties and Responsibilities and Discreditable Conduct.”
Gross misconduct refers to a breach of the police’s Standards of Professional Behaviour that is so serious as to justify dismissal.
