Ken Barlow looked on top of the world during the latest trip to Weatherfield as he planned to take Cassie Plummer on holiday abroad, but their break away has sparked fear among Corrie viewers
Coronation Street fans are convinced Cassie Plummer (played by Claire Sweeney) is trying to swindle unsuspecting Ken Barlow (William Roache) out of his money as the pair planned a trip abroad. During the latest trip to the cobbles, which aired on Sunday (October 27), Ken cosied up up to Cassie as they joked over the prospect of going on holiday together to Porto.
Initially, Cassie helped care for Ken after he suffered a fall and was left feeling frustrated at his lack of independence. As he tried to get back on his feet, Cassie supported Ken despite not being a professional carer as she lied about being sent from an agency.
When the truth came out, Ken allowed her to continue to help him, and the two formed a friendship. However, Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) was left feeling sceptical about Cassie’s intentions when she accepted a holiday with Ken to Portugal.

“Spending all his money again, I see,” Steve said to Ken and Cassie as excitement grew about their trip. He later went on to question why Cassie was still hanging around Ken now he was recovered, but she replied by stating it was “none of his business”.
Later in the episode, Ken returned home from a shopping trip dressed in his new holiday attire. He also bought Cassie a plush pink jacket to say “thank you,” leaving Steve more annoyed.
Cassie decided to return the jacket and get a refund, but before giving all the cash back to Ken, she put some in her pocket. She later told Steve her intentions were pure and that she enjoyed being in Ken’s company, leading him to apologise.
However, Corrie fans also think Cassie is planning to fleece Ken of his cash as the pair grow closer.
Taking to X, one viewer wrote: “I actually like spending time with Ken’ – Translation: ‘I love my current account with the Bank of Ken!’ #Corrie.”
A second exclaimed: “Ken & Cassie – friendship goals! Know where’s the rich old men at so I can fleece them for a freebie hols? #corrie.” (sic)
A third chimed in: “Still waiting on Cassie trying to get her hands on his money mind Corrie”. Another joked: “Sugar daddy ken #corrie.”
