Strictly: Chris McCausland dances The Waltz
Chris McCausland has shed light on his charming Halloween ritual with his daughter Sophie as he gears up for another crack at impressing on Strictly Come Dancing.
This Saturday (October 26) evening, the funny man and his pro dance partner Dianne Buswell hope to dazzle BBC One audiences and the judging panel – comprising Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, and Anton Du Beke – with a thrilling Samba to the classic Bee Gees hit ‘Stayin’ Alive’.
Speaking about his spooky season festivities, Chris shared: “I take my daughter trick or treating around our neighbourhood. You can always tell the people that are into it as they’ll have a little pumpkin in the window, I think that’s the sign now isn’t it” and with a chuckle, he added: “I’ve just got a sign that says stay away!”

Additionally, he discussed his views on the supernatural and paranormal activity, stating: “I don’t believe in any of it. I think if there were ghosts, you wouldn’t be able to see anything else but ghosts. Imagine all the ghost bees.”
In a heartfelt revelation from an earlier chat with Gyles Brandreth, the panellist from Have I Got News For You disclosed how the idea of fatherhood initially filled him with trepidation. He confided back then: “I was in such a dilemma about it because I knew I would regret not having kids, but the thought of having kids terrified me.”
Chris is currently leading the pack for Strictly 2024, according to bookies Ladbrokes. The funnyman is tipped as the most likely to take home the glitterball trophy with odds of 2/5, ahead of Love Island’s Tasha Ghouri at 4/1 and actress Sarah Hadland trailing with 9/1.
On Saturday night (October 21), Chris and his dance partner Dianne wowed the audience with a beautiful Waltz to Gerry and the Pacemakers’ You’ll Never Walk Alone, bagging a score of 35 – their highest yet in the series. With an eight from Craig and nines from the rest of the panel, they were just five points shy of a perfect 40.
