It has been a special day for the Sarah Platt star
Coronation Street star Tina O’Brien was flooded with support as she shared a special family update. The soap star is renowned for her role as Sarah Platt on the long-running ITV show.
She joined the cast in 1999 when she took over the role from twins, Leah and Lynsay King. The character has been at the centre of some of Corrie’s most dramatic storylines such as her teenage pregnancy and rollercoaster relationship with Jason Grimshaw.
She still remains as important as ever to the soap as her onscreen daughter, Bethany Platt, suffers with the impact of a botched cosmetic surgery. The character, played by Lucy Fallon, travelled overseas to undergo liposuction at a new facility in Turkey.
However, she ended up in critical condition after contracting sepsis as a result of a botched procedure, leading to her living with a permanent stoma. Bethany is struggling to come to terms the condition and needed to get some support from Sarah in the latest episode.

Tina’s life away from the screen is fortunately a lot less turbulent as she is the proud mum of two. She shared her eldest daughter, Scarlett, with her former partner, Ryan Thomas.
It is a special day for Scarlett as she is celebrating her 16th birthday. Tina was in disbelief at how quickly time had passed as she shared snaps from her daughter’s birthday celebrations on her Instagram Story.
The 41-year-old captioned the post: “Where does the time go?” She also shared a photo with her followers with her 538,000 Instagram followers with the caption: “Happy 16th birthday Scarlett, I love you so much.”
Scarlett is followed in the footsteps of her famous parents as she is currently part of the cast of Waterloo Road. Tina shared snaps from her daughter’s life so far with the caption: “16 wonderful years of you. I love you ma little chicken.”
The post received thousands of likes, includes shows of support from her co-stars, Lucy Fallon, Channique Sterling-Brown and Kate Ford. Julia Goulding, who plays Shona Platt, took to the comments and said: “Happy Birthday Scarlett!! “
Fans also took to the comments to praise the family after the update. Annette said: “Happy 16th Birthday to your beautiful girl.” Leona posted: “Your mini me with brunette at 16.” Deborah posted: “she’s your double. Happy birthday Scarlett xx”
Ryan Thomas, who played Jason Grimshaw in Coronation Street, issued a special message to Scarlett on his Instagram profile earlier today. He said: “Not easy seeing you grow up but I’m here for all of it! You are my shining star @scarlettjthomas26 happy 16th Birthday my darling girl.”
