The 33-year-old, who no longer works at the school, is due to appear in court for sentencing
A primary school teacher has pleaded guilty to making indecent images of children. Daniel Johnson appeared at Wirral Magistrates’ Court on October 15 having been arrested and charged with two counts of making an indecent photograph/pseudo-photograph of a child.
The 33-year-old, of Ledston Luck Cottages, Leeds, previously worked as a teacher at Heygarth Primary School in Eastham, Wirral. He pleaded guilty to the charges and is due to be sentenced at Liverpool Crown Court on Tuesday, November 12.
A letter, seen by the ECHO, was sent to parents and carers from headteacher of Heygarth Primary School Mrs Hazel Beamish, this week on Tuesday, October 22. The letter said Daniel Johnson’s employment ended at Heygarth Primary School at the beginning of June and no pupils at the school have been identified during the investigation by Merseyside Police.

The letter said: “Following a notification from Merseyside Police informing me that Mr Daniel Johnson was being investigated in relation to indecent images of a child, Mr Daniel Johnson has not been on the school site and, as previously stated, his employment ended at the beginning of June.
“I can confirm the school has worked with the local authority designated officer regarding all relevant actions and all safeguarding procedures have been adhered to. I can also confirm that no Heygarth child has been identified through the investigation by Merseyside Police.”
The headteacher added: “Mr Daniel Johnson has appeared in court and pleaded guilty to charges presented to him. He will appear in Liverpool Crown Court mid-November for sentencing. As this is a police matter, I cannot make any other comment in relation to this process.”
