Coronation Street’s Dee-Dee Bailey star Channique Sterling-Brow has left fans stunned as she shared some surprise behind-the-scenes details from the cobbles.
Taking to TikTok, the actress, 27, posted a video captioned: “This accidentally turned into the world’s most chaotic GRWM But anywho it was school picture day at corrie! #foryou #grwm #fentybeauty #corrie #coronationstreet.”
In the clip, it sees Channique reveal it’s Coronation Street’s picture day as she takes soap fans on a get ready with me insight. The actress revealed she was filming in the morning but decided to head to the gym on her break as she thought she’d have enough time although she hilariously admitted: “I was wrong lol.”
Channique then revealed she headed straight to make-up, where she explained: “It was a bit crazy in there so I grabbed my box and headed straight to costume.” Channique then showed her character Dee-Dee’s costume rail, pointing out it was extensive, where she picked out a pink pinstripe suit.
The actress then headed to her dressing room, where she applied her make-up and did a breakdown of the process, as well as what products she used to transform into her character. Applying blue eye liner, Channique said: “This used to be a Dee-Dee staple but I’ve not been wearing it recently because she’s been sad. But you know sad gal Dee-Dee is not going to be my Corrie legacy! Not on my watch!”
After applying her make-up, sorting her hair and changing into costume, Dee-Dee was ready for the picture day with her fellow cast members as she showed debuts from many of her co-stars.
Taking to the comments section, viewers didn’t realise that cast members could do their own make-up, hair and pick their costumes for filming. One person said: “Omg wait u choose ur own outifts off the rail and choose ur own makeup‚ that’s so cool! U always look gorgeous!”
Meanwhile, another wrote: “I didn’t know you guys did your own makeup , I thought there were makeup artists” to which Channique explained: “We do have make up artists but as I’d been to the gym between filming and the photo, I needed to redo it and it was really busy in the make up room, hence the rushing to do it myself!”
Elsewhere, a different soap watcher commented: “Wait you said your unsure where the necklace is from as you have had it for 2 years, do you all do your own shopping for your characters?” to which Channique replied: “Costume department do all the shopping we just get to choose what we like in the fittings!”
