Pantomimes are the perfect family day out during the festive season
The festive season is fast approaching and with it comes an array of colourful pantomimes for the whole family to enjoy. Whether you want something cheeky and fun or a modern retelling of a classic Disney fairytale, you won’t be short of options.
There’s still a few weeks to go before the Christmas season comes into full swing but a few shows have already been announced. Families can enjoy Sleeping Beauty, Snow White or Cinderella, with a few famous faces appearing in lead roles.
We’ve rounded up a few pantomimes perfect for celebrating this Christmas. We will update this list as more are confirmed.

Sleeping Beauty with TikTok’s Joel M
The cast of Sleeping Beauty is excited to spread some festive cheer at The Atkinson in Southport, starring Blue Peter presenter and TikTok sensation, Joel M. He takes on the role of Presto the Court Jester, showcasing a combination of pantomime classics and illusions.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
The classic tale of Snow White will be told on stage at St Helens Theatre Royal. The cast includes Maureen Nolan as Wicked Queen, Emrhys Cooper as Prince Frederick, Leanne Campbell as Magic Mirror, Chantelle Morgan as Snow White, Richard Aucott as Nurse Nelly and Lewis Devine as Muddles.

The Magical Adventures of Peter Pan
Peter and his friends encounter the villainous Captain Hook, who seeks revenge on Peter for the loss of his hand to a hungry crocodile. With Tink’s guidance and the help of magical fairy dust, Peter Pan must outsmart Captain Hook and his bumbling crew, overcoming challenges, and discovering the true meaning of love, loyalty, and never-ending magic.

Cinderella with Anne Hegerty
The former I’m A Celebrity contestant will be playing the Fairy Godmother and said she is relishing the chance to have a very different role to her usual authoritative demeanour as a ‘Chaser’. Anne will be joined by Charlotte Buxton as Cinderella, Stockton Heath’s own Chris Pym as Prince Charming, Katie Buttner as Dandini, Nick Fawcett as Baron Hardup and Philip Meeks and Matt McInnes as the Ugly Sisters.
