Latest Liverpool news and gossip as the Reds prepare to face Chelsea in the Premier League at Anfield
Liverpool return to Premier League action later today when they host Chelsea at Anfield. The Reds take on the Londoners in their first fixture after the October international break and will be determined to secure all three points.
Arne Slot’s team beat Crystal Palace 1-0 before the two-week hiatus and moved to the top of the Premier League table in the process. Liverpool have won six of their first seven top-flight fixtures this season and will be determined to get another victory against an in-form Chelsea team that are undefeated in their last seven in all competitions.
Sunday’s game will see some members of the Liverpool squad unavailable through injury. Federico Chiesa is not expected to be involved with a fitness issue, while Alisson Becker remains sidelined with a hamstring injury.

Alexis Mac Allister is a doubt for Liverpool, but Slot and Co. will hope the Argentina international will be fit enough to be part of the squad. Mac Allister was not involved in team training on Friday, and was instead working in a gym session as he looked to build up his fitness for the clash against Chelsea.
Kostas Tsimikas is also a doubt for Liverpool after missing Friday’s training due to illness. It remains to be seen if Harvey Elliott will make a return from a fractured foot, which has forced the midfielder to miss all seven fixtures between the September and October international breaks.
