Liverpool injury news as Reds face Chelsea in a huge Premier League match
The international break is over and the real business begins again for Liverpool this weekend. Arne Slot will be aiming to keep his side top of the Premier League table when they face Chelsea at Anfield on Sunday.
The new Liverpool head coach has won six out of his seven Premier League games in charge of the Reds, leaving them a point clear of Man City and Arsenal at the summit.
But Chelsea will be a tough test, with Enzo Maresca’s side also enjoying a good start to the season under new management. The Londoners sit fourth in the table and are unbeaten in six games since an opening day defeat to Man City.

Liverpool go into the game with several injury worries, with Slot set to provide the latest update on his squad in a 9am press conference on Friday morning.
One player certainly sidelined, though, is Alisson Becker, with the Brazilian expected to be out until after the November international break following a hamstring injury suffered against Crystal Palace.
Harvey Elliott is also expected to miss the game after breaking a foot in September, though the youngster will be hoping he’s nearing a comeback after stepping up his rehabilitation in recent weeks.
Alexis Mac Allister should be fit despite worries over a groin problem during the international break, though Liverpool will check on him before the match. The midfielder managed more than an hour of Argentina’s World Cup qualifier against Bolivia in the early hours of Wednesday UK time.
Meanwhile, the Reds were boosted by the early returns of Mohamed Salah, Curtis Jones and Virgil van Dijk from international duty. Wataru Endo suffered illness but should be fit for the weekend.
Liverpool will be hoping Federico Chiesa is fit again after a fitness issue saw him miss the wins over Bologna and Palace.
