Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai has been serenaded with a Taylor Swift song by Reds team-mate Andy Robertson after the Hungarian proposed to his girlfriend
Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai was treated to an impromptu Taylor Swift verse by teammate Andy Robertson ahead of Sunday’s Premier League face-off with Chelsea.
As the Reds prepare to host the Stamford Bridge side at Anfield, fresh from topping the league table ahead of international fixtures, Szoboszlai has had quite the eventful period representing Hungary in the Nations League.
He led his national team as captain to secure a commendable 1-1 draw against the Netherlands and then went on to score a vital double in a convincing 2-0 triumph over Bosnia.

Amidst his international exploits, the 23-year-old midfielder took the perfect chance during this break from English football to pop the question to his girlfriend, Borka Buzsik – a renowned Hungarian influencer.
The couple only went public with their relationship in July, after Hungary’s Euro 2024 campaign, but they’ve quickly decided to engage.
Szoboszlai made his romantic proposal at the Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace in beautiful Budapest. The happy occasion was shared with his Instagram followers, as the footballer posted a photo with his fiancé against the picturesque Budapest skyline, alongside the heart-warming caption, “She said Yes! ” Congratulations were quick to come through from fellow Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold, who commented then, “Congratulations brother.”
Back at Melwood, the celebrations were kept alive as Robertson welcomed Szoboszlai back with a rendition of a Taylor Swift song, showing the team spirit within the Liverpool camp. A clip released by Liverpool FC shows the enjoyable moment, capturing Szoboszlai chatting away with Mohamed Salah at their training facility, reports the Express.
Andy Robertson couldn’t resist a cheeky serenade for teammate Dominik Szoboszlai, singing a twist on Taylor Swift’s hit “Love Story” in the background: “Marry me, Szoboszlai, you’ll never have to be alone,” as the midfielder glanced back at the Scotland international.
Szoboszlai has been pivotal for Liverpool this season under manager Arne Slot, featuring in all but one of their Premier League games and both Champions League fixtures.
The Hungarian has provided key assists against Ipswich and Manchester United and set up Salah’s strike against Bologna in Europe. In September, he netted his sole goal in the 3-1 win over AC Milan.
Last month, Slot praised Szoboszlai’s contribution, particularly highlighting his pressing game: “He has been important for us and his pressing has been outstanding.”
However, Slot noted there’s room for improvement: “Something we have to work on is making him even more involved in scoring goals. He scored three last season but for an attacking midfielder at Liverpool, his numbers need to go up.”
