The hit ITV show was back for another episode on Wednesday (October 16) with presenter Ben Shephard at the helm
Tipping Point: Player loses £10k but they ‘don’t care’
During the recent instalment of Tipping Point, there was a heart-racing moment as contestant Jen narrowly missed out on the top £10,000 prize, yet she maintained a carefree attitude, claiming, “I don’t care.”
Fans tuned in for another exciting episode of the hit ITV game show this Wednesday (October 16) and saw host Ben Shephard welcome players eager to snag the cash prize. It was Jen’s day to shine as she expertly navigated through the rounds and emerged as the final contender.
Jen’s impressive knowledge showed her correctly answering Ben’s questions, gaining precious counters to use in the machine. Favouring slot number one throughout, Jen watched anxiously as the star counter – worth a whopping £10,000 teetered on the brink but refused to fall.
The climactic moment came when Ben had to ask Jen whether she was willing to gamble her £3,450 winnings for a shot at the jackpot. After some deliberation, citing that the counter wasn’t sufficiently on the edge, Jen chose to keep her winnings, stating boldly, “I don’t care”.
However, a twist of fate revealed that had Jen taken the risk, she would have indeed clinched the sought-after £10K, reports the Daily Star. Even with this revelation, Jen stood by her decision, repeating, “I don’t care” and “I don’t want to know.”
She consoled herself by imagining that her winnings would comfortably fund a trip to see the Northern Lights with her partner.
But viewers watching from their sofas weren’t sold on Jen’s game tactics. Following her outcome, they swiftly took to X to voice their opinions. A sarcastically inclined fan observed: “Yeah, 3,000 is so much better than 10,000.”
There was no hiding the irritation for another viewer who vented: “‘If it had been right on the edge I might have gone for it’. It WAS right on the edge!” Another bewildered spectator commented: “I’m dumbfounded she didn’t take the trade.”
Yet another audience member praised Jen and reminded her not to overlook the additional rewards: “Congrats, Jen. You didn’t need to win. You met our beloved Ben. Enjoy your Champagne and Spa break.”
Tipping Point airs weekdays at 4pm on ITV1.
