The man suffered puncture wounds to his head and hands
A suspect has been named after a man was attacked inside a flat. It was reported at 9.45am on Saturday, October 12 a man had been assaulted around two hours earlier inside a property on Upper Parliament Street in Toxteth.
Emergency services attended and the man in his 40s, who had puncture wounds to his head and hands as well as bruising to his face, was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
A man was detained and a knife seized at the scene. Allan John Paris, 52, of Upper Parliament Street was arrested and later charged with Section 18 wounding with intent. He has been remanded into custody to appear at Liverpool Magistrates’ Court today, Monday, October 14.

Detective Chief Inspector Steve Ball said: “The use of knives to inflict serious injury and worse in Merseyside is simply not acceptable. The carrying and use of knives can have tragic consequences, not only for the victim and their family but for the offenders involved too.
“Not only do those carrying knives risk being brought to justice for their crime, they stand a greater risk of becoming a victim of knife crime themselves. I would urge people to educate themselves and speak to their children and family members about the dangers of knife crime.”
