Sandi Toksvig and Noel Fielding hosted Great British Bake Off from 2017 until 2020
Sandi Toksvig has opened up about her relationship with former Bake Off co-stars including Noel Fielding. In a blunt admission, she has revealed she is no longer friends with him.
Sandi Toksvig and Noel Fielding hosted the Great British Bake Off from 2017 until 2020 after replacing Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins who had hosted previously. The Channel 4 programme has been a favourite show among British households for many years since it first launched on BBC in 2010.
After hosting the show for three years, Sandi stepped down from the role in 2020 and was later replaced by Matt Lucas before Alison Hammond took on the role last year. In a new interview, the Danish presenter has spoken out about her relationships with not only Noel Fielding but other co-stars including Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith.

When Sandi announced her departure from Bake Off four years ago, she praised her friendships with the judges and her co-host by releasing a statement: “Spending time with Prue, Paul and Noel has been one of the great pleasures of my life. These are friendships which I know will continue beyond the confines of television. Bake Off is a wonderful programme which has already proved it can happily withstand a change of hosting personnel.”
In an interview with The Times, she said she and Prue Leith, 84, are ”joined at the hip”. Prue was a judge on BBC Two show Great British Menu for eleven years before replacing Mary Berry on Bake Off in 2017. She has continued to be a part of the show since its move to Channel 4 in the same year.
Discussing if she still has contact with head baker Paul Hollywood, Toksvig stated: “Not so much. He’s so busy. He drives cars so fast it’s impossible to catch him”
When the 66-year-old was asked about having a relationship with Noel Fielding after they stopped presenting the cherished TV show together she bluntly replied ”no”.
Following Sandi’s departure from the show in January 2020, Noel shared a heartfelt post at the time alongside an image of the pair together. The statement read: “I feel like Tom without Jerry! Mick without Keef!
“I’m gonna miss you Sandi and our strange and magical double act. it’s been a joy to hang out and muck about in the Tent with you. thank you for three wonderful years! You will always be my favourite Ewok Viking! x x x x x x x x.”
In the same interview, Sandi revealed in leaving Bake Off, she “walked away from the biggest pay cheque of my life” after her wife, Debbie, urged her to leave the role because it wasn’t bringing her happiness.
