A contestant on Sunday night’s show took a risk that payed off
On ITV’s Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, a contestant won big on Sunday night despite taking a few risky moves. As the first player of the night, Jackie Lynch from Bayswater won her place on the hot seat by being the only one to answer the deciding question correctly.
The nutritionist from London mentioned early on in the competition that she considered literature and history to be her strongest subjects. But, hinting at her future success she said “you never know, as sometimes you can surprise yourself.”
Jackie battled 11 questions, using up all but one of her life lines. The next question then asked: “The action of which of these classic 20th Century novels takes place on a single day?” Despite not having read the novel, Jackie decided to take a risk, as after all, literature was her strong suit.

Jackie locked in the correct answer of Ulysses, which allowed her to bank £64,000. Clarkson looked taken aback and clarified: “So you’ve gone for a book you’ve never read? Because you’re gut told you to?” to which Jackie confidently replied with a simple “yes.”
Later on the nutritionist threatened with going for the quarter of million pound question but ultimately decided it was too big of a risk. Walking away with £125,000, Jackie definitely set the bar high for the rest of the contestants that followed and left thrilled with her life-changing winnings.
Fans online who were rooting for her success were quick to comment. X user Joseph commented: “Oh Jackie….THAT WAS INSANE!! Well done.” Another user added: “Well done Jackie. Cracking win.”
