The Welsh star is proud of where he comes from
ITV’s The Voice returned this week for the sixth round of blind auditions. Alongside Welsh icon Tom Jones, the show has four other star-studded judges including will.i.am, LeAnn Rimes, Tom Fletcher and Danny Jones.
In between the dozens of hopeful musician’s performances, co-judges Tom Fletcher and Danny Jones sang a duet that had the audience clapping along. As the room went quiet, will.i.am exclaimed: “I just love the UK. The people are just amazing.”
Tom Jones replied: “Well I come from Wales. Then I went to the states and lived in LA for 40 years. The accent is different but the cab drivers are the same. They have the same vibe you know.”

This led will.i.am to explain how many of his idols resided in the UK. Tom replied: “And a lot of the soul singers that I knew in the 60s always loved coming to England. I love being British and I’m so thankful to be born in Great Britain, honestly. And that’s the truth.” This led to applause from the audience.
Many fans seem to enjoy the candid moments between the judges, with some taking to social media to share their reaction to the show. On X, formerly Twitter, Stephen said: “Some acts are great, but the judges steal the show.” Kate added: “I love all the judges on the Voice and LeAnne has a fantastic voice.”
