Liverpool visit Selhurst Park on Saturday to face Crystal Palace in their latest Premier League clash
Liverpool will make a late decision on the availability of Federico Chiesa for Saturday’s trip to Crystal Palace after the forward missed a training session for Arne Slot’s side on Thursday. The Italian has made just three appearances for the Reds since sealing a £10m move from Juventus in August, with his only start coming in last month’s 5-1 thrashing of West Ham United in the League Cup.
Italian international Chiesa missed recent wins against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Bologna and is now facing a race against the clock to prove his fitness for the visit to Selhurst Park on Saturday lunchtime.

Asked about Chiesa’s availability on Friday, Slot said: “Wait and see, he didn’t train for the last two days. He came in today to see if he could train. And if he can, I still have a decision to make because we can only select 20 and he hasn’t trained for a few days.
“But first of all, we have to wait and see if he can even train. And if he can, it’s my decision if we bring him to the game or not.”
One player who will miss Saturday’s game is Harvey Elliott, with the midfielder still recovering from a foot injury he suffered on international duty last month.
