Coronation Street’s Kit Green has ruffled plenty of feathers on the cobbles – but fans reckon he has something sinister up his sleeve
Coronation Street has appeared to confirm Kit Green’s sickening next move – and it’s not looking good for Billy Mayhew. The bent copper, played by Jacob Roberts, first rocked up to the cobbles this year, as Bernie’s (Jane Hazlegrove) long-lost child.
Soap favourite Bernie gave up a Christopher ‘Kit’ Green for adoption almost thirty years ago. And a few months ago, she eventually tracked him down. Meanwhile, Bernie’s twins Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) and Paul (Peter Ash) were left stunned to find out they had another brother.
What’s more, Kit also had a part to play in sicko Nathan Curtis (Christopher Harper) getting sent to prison for the murder of Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton). Kit planted Lauren’s DNA in paedophile Nathan’s van and framed him.

Since then, Kit has become a regular on the cobbles – and has caused plenty of drama. As well as forcing soap legend Beth Tinker (Lisa George) to leave the street, Kit has also contributed to the break up of Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) and Daisy (Charlotte Jordan).
However, fans have now ‘rumbled’ Kit’s next plan on the street. Over on the soap this week, his brother Paul’s funeral took place following his battle with MND. Before heading there, Kit was greeted by co-worker DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers).
She told him that his colleagues at the station had chipped in to donate some cash that Kit could donate to an MND charity. Kit was chuffed to see the envelope of cash before putting it inside his jacket.
However, suspicious fans clocked how the envelope of cash was never seen again in the episode. Convinced something dodgy is going on, viewers have shared their theories online. Writing on a Corrie Facebook fan page, one person said: “Kit never passed the money.” Someone else replied: “I thought this and it’s still going round my head!”
A third chimed in and proclaimed: “He is a con man.” Another echoed their thoughts and wrote: “He was never going to. He’s a bent cop.” A fifth person penned: “Don’t trust him there’s something dodgy about him.”
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX
