Jordan Henderson had to be dragged away from an angry row with Ajax team-mate Bertrand Traore
Former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson had to be pulled away from ex-Chelsea man Bertrand Traore during Ajax’s Europa League clash against Besiktas. The teammates clashed in the second half of the 4-0 win.
The game saw Henderson return to the league stage of the competition for the first time since a quarter-final clash for Liverpool against Borussia Dortmund back in 2016. He did, however, captain Ajax through the qualifying stages of the tournament earlier this season.
Henderson again wore the captain’s armband as Ajax hosted Turkish side Besiktas on Tuesday night. It was a successful night for the team, with goals from Kian Fitz-Jim, Mika Godts (x2), and Kenneth Taylor giving them a 4-0 win.

But with the score at 3-0 just after the hour mark, Henderson didn’t hold back on his frustration with teammate Traore. A late challenge saw the winger give away a foul on the right side of the pitch.

In a clip shared by TNT Sports, Henderson is shown shouting at the winger, with Traore shouting back. The pair get closer while still shouting at each other before the England international was pulled away by teammates before continuing to show his frustration.
Traore was taken off the pitch around 10 minutes later due to injury. The winger provided an assist earlier in the game for Godts’ first goal and Ajax’s second.
Henderson, meanwhile, played the full 90 minutes. The game was his 10th appearance in all competitions so far this season.
He seems to have settled at Ajax after making the move from the Saudi Pro League back in January. He has worn the captain’s armband in all but one game this campaign.
While now teammates, Henderson and Traore would have come up against each other in the Premier League. Traore spent some time at Chelsea, but made just 16 appearances for the club.
He also played 62 times for Aston Villa before moving to Villarreal on a free transfer in January. The 29-year-old completed a move to Ajax on another free transfer in the summer transfer window.
