Liverpool take on West Ham United at Anfield on Wednesday night, so we simulated the clash using the new EA FC 25 to get a score prediction.
Liverpool will begin their Carabao Cup defence later today when the Reds take on West Ham United in the third round of the competition.
After their 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest two weeks ago, Liverpool have bounced back fantastically with wins against AC Milan in the Champions League and most recently, a 3-0 win over Bournemouth in the Premier League. Now, all attention turns to the Carabao Cup third round, with Arne Slot’s side welcoming West Ham to Anfield.
Liverpool are the current holders of the Carabao Cup, with the Reds beating Chelsea 1-0 in last season’s final. Rotation is expected from Slot’s side, with the likes of Cody Gakpo and Federico Chiesa expected to start.
So, can Liverpool start their Carabao Cup campaign with a win? Let’s take a look.

We simulated Liverpool vs West Ham United to get a score prediction
To complete this simulation, we used EA FC 25 and updated the squads with the latest injuries and suspensions.
We predict that Liverpool could line up in a 4-3-3 formation, with their starting XI as follows: Kelleher, Bradley, Konate, Quansah, Tsimikas; Gravenberch, Endo, Jones; Chiesa, Gakpo, Nunez.
We predict that West Ham could set up in a 4-3-3 formation, with their line-up as follows: Fabianski; Coufal, Todibo, Kilman, Cresswell; Soucek, Alvarez, Soler; Bowen, Ings, Summerville.
It was the Reds that started on the front foot at Anfield, and they came close to taking the lead after seven minutes when Chiesa’s drilled shot across the box skimmed the outside of the post. The pressure continued as West Ham struggled to escape their half, and in the 19th minute, Slot’s side took a deserved lead.
After intercepting a pass on the right, Conor Bradley surged forward before playing the ball to Chiesa who drifted into the middle. On the turn, the Italian fed a pass through to Darwin Nunez, and a powerful striker saw the striker bury his effort in the bottom corner to make it 1-0.
Just after the half-time break, West Ham almost scored with their first shot when Danny Ings got the better of Ibrahima Konate one-on-one, but Caoimhin Kelleher was on high alert to make a great save with his feet. The Reds were struggling to find a second goal despite their dominance, with Slot introducing Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz on the hour in an attempt to kill the game.
In the 84th minute, Diaz twisted and turned to ease past Vladimir Coufal, and a penalty was awarded after the defender pulled down the Colombian in the box. Diaz stepped up to take the spot kick, and he cooly side-footed his shot down the middle to make it 2-0 late on and secure the victory.
EA FC 25 predicted final score: Liverpool 2-0 West Ham
