Police have cordoned off the road following the incident
A 43-year-old woman is in a critical condition in hospital after falling from an electric scooter. Merseyside Police has appealed for information after the woman suffered serious injuries after falling from the electric scooter while riding along Princes Parade in Liverpool city centre at around 6.30pm today, Saturday, September 21.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said the woman was rushed to hospital by the North West Ambulance Service and her condition is described as critical. At this stage no other party is believed to be involved and the force’s roads policing unit are carrying out an investigation to determine the cause of the incident.

A police spokesperson added: “We are appealing for any witnesses to the incident, or any motorists who may have dashcam footage to contact us.” A number of police vehicles were seen down on Princes Parade – a road that runs along the River Mersey between St Nicholas Place by the Liver Building and the Isle of Man Ferry Terminal – this evening.
A section of the road was cordoned off and drivers were diverted away from the area. Two vehicles including a licensed taxi were inside the police cordon next to two Voi scooters.

When the ECHO left the scene at around 9.15pm, there was no sign of police forensics. Pedestrians and cyclists can continue to access the area.
