Strictly Come Dancing viewers were sent into a spin as they were convinced they saw a ‘kiss’ between two of the stars of the show
Strictly: Pete Wicks and Jowita perform the paso doble
Strictly Come Dancing enthusiasts are convinced they spotted a “kiss” between TOWIE’s Pete Wicks and his dance partner Jowita Przystal on the dance floor.
The BBC show’s latest episode opened with a unique take on the paso doble performed to The Prodigy’s iconic track Breathe, striking viewers with its unorthodox, heavy-footed choreography. With Pete on his knees, Jowita swooped in, bringing their faces close and many fans are persuaded they saw a smooch.
Rushing to X, which used to be Twitter, a fan wrote: “Was that a KISS between Pete and Jowita?” Another chimed in: “Plz tell me I’m not the only one who saw Pete kiss his dance partner during their routine just now?”. An additional comment read: “Obsessed with Pete just walking around for two minutes and kissing Jowita a few times!”

Meanwhile, another viewer anticipated the gossip mill spinning into action: “I can already hear the rumours starting about Pete and Jowita!”. One spectator queried the apparent repetition of the act: “But why did they kiss three times? !” Pete’s look was also a talking point; he wore full leather trousers and waistcoat, complemented with black eyeliner, resulting in an incredibly distinct performance. Fans largely praised his ability to execute the dance moves while donned in the elaborate attire, reports the Mirror.
A tweet highlighted the engaging nature of Strictly: “Only Strictly can give you the tears of a mum watching her leather-clad son dancing the paso doble to Dave Arch’s cover version Breathe by The Prodigy.” And yet another viewer expressed unexpected enthusiasm for the dance competition: “I am not a Strictly girly but I will be watching it just for Pete Wicks in a bit of leather.”
Strictly has once again kicked off for 2024 after an exciting launch show. The first week sees the celebrities and their professional partners team up for their initial shot at placing on the leaderboard with a performance. Despite the judges providing feedback and scoring the celebs, no one will be eliminated in the first week. The real tension begins in week two when one celebrity will be sent home permanently.
Viewers can get involved when the lines open next Saturday (September 28) in week two, and the first elimination of the series will air the following night (Sunday, September 29). Tonight’s action will start at 7pm on BBC One, but there won’t be a results show this weekend. Currently leading the betting odds are X Factor winner Shayne Ward and JLS star JB Gill. However, former professional dancer Erin Boag has highlighted Miranda star Sarah Hadland as another contender to keep an eye on.
