Liverpool are set to be without Harvey Elliott for a period of time with a fractured foot
Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott has posted to his social media as he continues his recovery from injury. The England under-21 international has displayed a protective boot on his left foot after suffering the problem during the international break.
The Reds could be without the midfielder for up to six weeks after a fractured foot during Ben Futcher’s first camp as interim manager of the Young Three Lions. After undergoing further tests, it was revealed that Elliott suffered a fracture which will keep him sidelined for at least a month.
Already, Elliott has missed the 1-0 defeat in their Premier League return to Nottingham Forest, a first for new head coach Arne Slot, as well as the midweek Champions League win over AC Milan. The matches continue coming thick and fast for Liverpool with five matches until the next international break in early October.

In a series of social media posts, Elliott was posing at the coffee bar at the AXA Training Centre with Caoimhin Kelleher and Kostas Tsimikas. He simply captioned the post: “Fellas,” sat on top of the counter-top with the protective boot on show.

Speaking prior to the defeat to Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, the 46-year-old expressed his disappointment at his absence. He said “Harvey is of course a big disappointment for him but also for us.
“Okay, he didn’t play that much in the first three games but he played a lot in pre-season and showed himself really well. If he had stayed fit he would have had a lot of playing time in the upcoming fixtures, but now it gives a chance to someone else.
“It’s first and foremost a blow for himself but for also for us, availability is important in the stage of the season when we play seven games in 22 days. He will work as hard as always to come back in the best possible way.”
